[2024-10-15 Roseman note for Patterson Marine, Pentwater
We had been under the impression that #498 had been owned by the Snyders of Houston. Kay Snyder is the longstanding, great, Treasurer of the Ensign Class Association. This email exchange clarifies that.]

Hi Greg:

You're welcome! It is great boat and the people who own Ensigns make it even more fun.

I didn't own #498 but we did own the similar vintage #517. My husband always said that 517 was faster than 1724!

Eaglet is well traveled and has an interesting history. Ray Wescott of Fleet 14 in Old Greenwich, CT bought it new in 1964 and won the Ensign National Championship Regatta in 1971. He also sailed it in several other Nationals. In 1980 it came to Fleet 2 on Galveston Bay and was at the Houston Yacht Club until 2008 when Jim and Linda Williams moved it to Dallas. The Williams later moved it to their summer place in Michigan.

Best regards,
Kay Snider
ECA Treasurer

Hi Kay,
Thank you for the yearbook and welcome. I own # 498 which I think you raced on and owned at one point from what Jim the previous owner told me. Have raced several times since I purchased it last month.
Best wishes,
Greg Green
